Review: Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream

1

I constantly hear everyone saying how good this product is. But then…

I was really excited to receive this product because every beauty YouTuber I watch basically loves this. But when I tried it out, multiple times, I got to know that this concealer is nothing for me.

Let’s start with the packaging. It doesn’t come in a box, it just comes like this, in this small container sealed in plastic wrap, just like for example Aritaum’s Full Cover BB cream and concealer. It doesn’t say the ingredients on the packaging, sadly, but I’m sure you can find something online. It’s pretty classical container with golden metal lid.

The colour is, as you can tell from the name, salmon like. It’s peachy, light orange-pinkish undertone. Basically cooked salmon, yum. The colour is perfect for covering the dark blue-purple dark circles due to the colour wheel. When I first opened it, it looked way too orange and I was kind of shocked (I have the lighter shade) but when you rub it on your finger, it’s not that orange anymore. I apply it with my bh cosmetics concealer brush so that’s why you see the surface is like that. I just feel like the brush is perfect for the undereye area.

Now to talk about how well it hold and all. When I put it on my dark circles, it really does cancel out the blue undertone. But one of the problems are how shiny and sticky this thing is. You HAVE to set it with powder (I use my Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder) otherwise you look extremely oily. Okay, I get it, I have oily eyes, well what can I do. I do have fine lines under my eyes and this concealer sets in them almost immediately. I’ve just ordered firming eye cream in order to try and solve this so I’ll update you if I see any difference. But still, this does set in the wrinkles and in eye crease when I apply it over my eyelids. But then almost everything does that. Lots of people say this concealer does not set in fine lines. But it does. Sadly. Plus it doesn’t last very long. As you can see in the video down below, after the 8 hours, my dark circles are visible just like if I didn’t put anything on them. This is quite sad because you know, I sometimes have to study a lot and then I don’t get enough sleep, well I have darkcircles naturally so I really hoped this would solve it out.

Overall I recommend this since most of the people like this. Personally I’d say try it out. My eye area is really neglected and all so this just didn’t work out for me due to the oily eyelids. Maybe if I start using eye primer, it will hold better? But I don’t wear anything on my eyelids anymore soo…

Just try it out.

  1. Oh that is unfortunate! I love Skinfood and I wanted to try out this concealer. Hopefully it won’t set into my fine lines and last longer than 8 hours.
