I’m always open for trying out new stuff and cleansing cream is definitely a new thing for me. I’ve already tried cleansing balm in the past (Heimish All Clean Balm) which was basically a solid oil. But cream? Sounds fun. So let’s take a look.
To make a small introduction, today I’m talking about Tonymoly Pro Clean Smoky Cleansing Cream. If you read some of my previous reviews, you know that Tonymoly makes the best cushion that really works like magic.
Packaging
It doesn’t come in any box, it’s just protected with a plastic wrap. The container is fairly simple, white with a black lid. You’re getting 180 ml of product which for the price is amazing (Heimish is 120 ml and $2 more).
Product
The consistency is a really thick cream which is kind of hard to pick up with a finger so I advise using some kind of spoolie to use, it makes everything way easier.
It also has a scent which isn’t too empowering, it smells really nice but it still has some fragrance. So if you don’t like fragrance in your skincare, this might be something to consider.
Now let’s take a look on the cleansing test. I used foundation, gel eyeliner, concealer, marcara, pencil and liquid eyeliner to see how it removes all kinds of different products.
I used quite a lot of product in contrast to All Clean Balm or any cleansing oil. And it also took way too long to remove. And as you can see on the last picture, there’s some gel eyeliner and mascara left. I’m not saying it’s bad because I still use extra eye makeup remover so this doesn’t bother me that much, I’m just saying it for you to take into consideration.
To not only judge from trying it on my arm, I’ve also tried it a few times on my face and it’s way faster than on my arm. Which might be because I use cleansing oils only for my base makeup, not my eye makeup since I know that some mascaras I wear are really stubborn (not the one I tried on the picture).
However, my skin really did feel moisturized even after using second cleanser and that doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes (lately) my skin is just extremely dry and after washing my face, my face feels like dried tangerine, but with this, not at all. So that’s a huge plus.
It leaves a slightly oily residue after washing off with water, which I don’t like. However, it’s not that big of a deal either because I double cleanse and with foam cleanser or soap, the residue is easily removed.
Overall
I do like this cleansing cream, it’s very gentle and moisturizing, which is exactly what my skin needs lately. I recommend this more to dry to normal skintype since oily girls might dislike the residue.
